FAN FATALE

Here I am!! Finally I have a moment to catch my breath and blog. I really would have preferred blogging as it happened but I now I have a new found respect for people (i.e. rock stars) that LIVE on the road. This is HARD SHIT people! I can’t ever recall what city I a in, what state I am in, or my fucking hotel room number. We haven’t been eating a whole lot either...we don’t have time. So with that said, I AM HAVING THE BES TIME EVER!!!!!! Here goes as I recall it in a hotel room from....Kansas City, I think.

ST. PAUL

St. Paul was sooooo cold. I had never seen so much snow in my whole life. We had a day off before the second show on our tour so we took the opportunity to REST! For show 2 I had a wardrobe malfunction so I had to wear jeans...yeah boring I KNOW....but shit happens. We went to the venue 2 hours early and no one was there yet so we went in search of a band aid for a gash on Guys face from a shaving accident. We got back at the venue about 15 minutes later and 2 men were in line. We parked and Guy tended to his wound while I rushed to the line so that the bitch that just pulled up in a cab wouldn’t get my spot behind the 2 other people. As soon as I get there, relieved to be there, the bitch gets out of the cab. WHO WAS IT?? Go ahead, ask me. WHO?? It was Jake Shears!!!!!!!!!!!!! He was all bundled up to protect his hot lil body from the cold. Sitting in the cab as he struggled with luggage and paying the cabby...ANA MATRONIC!!! She was not made p yet and the woman is still gorgeous! I struggled to get guys attention to get his as to the line but I didn’t want to yell. I don’t like doing creepy stalker things like that, especially when my target is 15 feet away from me. Guy finally arrives and pus thru my lips "ITS JAKE!" So their security people sow up to carry their stuff and as they proceed to the door, one of the gentlemen in front asked them if they had a minute. They came over and I got my picture with Jake. I asked him if they had received the king cake we had sent them from New Orleans. His response, "Oh that was YOU guys? It was DELICIOUS! Thanks so much, tat was really sweet of you." At that point, Ana came over and motioned that it had made her fat or something of that nature but I couldn’t really respond because Jake was starring at me with those beautiful blue eyes. That shit melts me!!! I mentioned to him that we would be following them all the way to Houston. He thought that was awesome and thanked us again. Then they had to rush in cause the sound check was waiting on them. I was so flustered by Jakes eyes that I didn’t get my pic wit Ana.
As we waited in line we became friends with Rob and Jeffery, the first 2 men in line. And as we chatted we could hear the whole sound check!! I flipped out when I heard them doing Making Ladies!!!! And they also did Get It Get It. Waiting in line was a lot of fun, if you can believe that! Great people and lots to talk about. I was so happy that Chicago was already a distant memory.
When we got inside the venue, I met Dennis. He had made his own shirt and it was fucking FABULOUS!!! We started chatting and he asked me what my fave SS song is. When I said Almost Sorry, he screamed like a school girl because he said that was is favorite too. We both screamed and hugged each other because it’s an obscure song on an extra disc only released in the UK. We both agreed that it’s a lyrical masterpiece and we could listen to it all day long!! DENNIS I don’t have you’re email...I will find you someway and somehow dear. WE ARE KINDRED!
The show was fucking FABULOUS!!! OMG!! 100 times better than Chicago. Funniest moment of the show was when Jakeliterlly got caught on an attachement on Anasmic stand...the hook went up his ass and the look on his face was priceless!! The crowd was just amazing!! And the cherry on top the cake...Jeffery and I caught Jakes sweaty towel and we split it in half. So YES people, not only have I licked his sweat off of my own arm, I now OWN his DNA!! And I also got a set list as well from the sweetheart Matt that would soon realize that I am like a fungus. LOL. I was sad that it had to end. BUT we had to roll out immediately because St Louis was next and we had no time to spare.

On the road gain...

ST. LOUIS

I LOVED St. Louis. This city is soooooo adorable, cute, clean, pleasant, quaint, WONDERFUL! We had been on the road ALL DAY. Driving on 4 hours of sleep at some hotel in the middle of NO WHERE, USA. We arrived at the hotel at 4:00 knowing that our hopes of front row were quickly fading. There was an early entry trick to this venue and in order to be the winners of "first in" I thought we should be there by 3:30. So to my estimation we were arriving 30 minutes late TO THE HOTEL. So we got to our room showered, dressed, and made ourselves pretty as fast as we could. I had ANOTHER wardrobe malfunction so was forced to wear jeans for the second night in a row. BUT we had to go so I didn’t bitch too long. We arrive at the venue, driving in Guys convertible with the top down, pull to the back to ask a guard where the parking was, he motion us forward and WHO do we see walking toward us? WHO do you ask? JAK SHEARS! OMG!! He was looking scruffy with those sexy glasses he wears. As we approached, Guy slowed down but didn’t stop, I put my arm up and waved and said "Hey Jake, were back." He looked at us with a recognizing look on his eye and he said, "Heeeeeeeeeeeey." He smiled and we moved on to park. We went around to the bar for the early entry trick and to our fucking amazement; we were first in line at 4:50. We could not fucking believe it!! So the door to the bar opened at 5:00, we were given a reserved booth with the other 2 winners, Scott and James. We had so much fu in thee, drinking and getting to know each other. It was at that point that I realized that we were very fortunate to be meeting people that were awesome at each location. So as soon as the doors opened we went in and easily secured out spots at the front row. Sammy realized we were there AGAIN and he promptly waved and smiled. This venue was very odd. It looked like a bowling alley or a bingo hall. Oh well, no matter to me, I was front row. On the dance floor I met Kyle and Joe and a cutie patutie that could dance his little ass off named Shan. The show was AWESOME! The Sisters know how to work a crowd even a stiff as nails crowd *coughs* the balcony *coughs*. As the show ended and the sisters exited the stage, Jake waved and smiled at us...yes a separate wave for US. :) Next, we went out to the back to meet the band. When they emerged, we anxiously waited for the crowd to die down a bit so we could get some "personal time" with them. It worked. We talked to Jake for about 5 minutes or so. He told us how much he loves New Orleans and that he was thinking about buying a house there. He mentioned that they were trying to do something special for New Orleans but he didn’t elaborate. He asked about the "intensity" down there right now meaning the spike in crime...I told him the truth "we are use to that shit; it just means we are getting back to normal." He chuckled. I’m sure he realizes m right. We got Guys pic with Jake this time and I forgot to get one. On to Ana. When I walked up she gave me a hug and I said, “was so excited to see you guys yesterday that I forgot to get a pic with you." So we took a pic and I handed her a cd booklet to sign. She said, "Melissa right?" OMG, se remembered my name!!!! I was sooo excited. So then Babydaddy came out and I was pleasantly surprised at how nice and fun he was. He seems so subdued that I was thinking that he would be of interest to me. But I got a pic with him and I told him that we had been with them since Chicago and that we were going all the way to Houston. He told us thank you and asked if we were ok with tickets and everything. Hold up. Did Babydaddy just ask me if I needed tickets?? So I took a chance and said we fine with tickets but we could really use some backstage passes? He said "there’s really nothing going on back there." S I said, "Sound check?" He said, "There’s really nothing going on here either." So I left the 'please let me in' questions alone and said to him, "You know when we were in line at the Myth, we could here the sound check, and I heard you guys do Making Ladies." He said, "Yes you did, were working on bringing that one out soon." OMG I got a lil loopy at that moment and I asked him how soon. I told him, "I would give my right arm to hear t live!!" I extended my arm and asked if anyone had a saw. I begged for it before this tour was done. He said they would try their best. I motioned to him that he had 3 shows left. Ad I reminded him about my arm if he needed it. The exchange was fun. Overall, I still get a lil hazy when taking to them and I just go with the flow as best as I can. I keep forgetting to mention poor Rachel and our Dallas surprise. And Chad. What the hell is wrong with me? Don’t hate me girls...I get blinded by the EYES!! LOL

On the road again...

KANSAS CITY

Kansas City’s nowhere near s nice a town as St. Louis. But, the people were just as awesome! We arrived with a few hours to spare so we located the venue and the buses. Then we got a hotel so we could rest before the show. I wanted to arrive in the line by 5:oo. We go downstairs at 5:00 because we never seem to do anything on time. We are digging in the car for my shoes and Guy locks his keys in the trunk!! GOD DAMMIT!! So we waste about 20 minutes trying to get to the keys from the backseat. I could feel time and the front row slipping away. I refuse to give up so I called us a cab. When we arrived we were about 16th in line. I got several compliments on my purple shimmery pants. I have to admit, I did look cute. We sat in line next to some college kids that were so much fun!! Josh is hilarious and he did a great job of entertaining me throughout the night. Guy seemed concerned about his keys on this evening but he lightened up when the doors opened. As I entered the venue, I had a mission. FONT ROW!! So I started off walking at a brisk pace then ran to the sage to beat out people that were behind me in the original line. I was so excited that I yelled “SAMMY!' He looked up and waved with a smile. We proceeded to have fun with the college kids and I also met Sam who was behind me. He was really sweet. He said he was going to Dallas too. So hopefully we will see them there. I also met Dick, I mean NICK lol. He was Joshes adorable boyfriend. He had never been to a concert in his life. He’s from a town with a population of 25!! OMG!! He was so cute tho…they both were. The sow was again AMAZING!! It doesn’t matter how skint the crowd is...the work their buts off on stage!! Jake was smitten with Josh as well, I noticed. He spent a lot of time smiling and apparently laughing at him too. But the highlight of my night...Jake mentioned US on stage!!!! He said, "We have these lovely people here tonight who have been traveling with us from New Orleans to 4 or 5 shows now...you’ve heard this, just bear with it." YAY!!!!! Can I lick this man already?? PLEASE!! During the encore of take Your Mama, Jake climber on top of the speakers which were easily 15 feet high..he canced ad tok off his shirt...GORGEOUS!! Anyway, I had to fight for a set list this time. But Matt, the peach, didn’t let me down. I’m gonna have to get him a thank you something for Houston. After the show we tried to find a place to meet them but the buses were secured in a private parking area and we couldn't get anywhere near them. So we left. It was at this point that I realized how tired I was getting and that the ROAD was starting to get to me. I’m having so much FUN on this trip but I am a home girl...I want me place.

We leave for Dallas today and the show is tomorrow. BIG THINGS will be happening in Dallas. I can feel it!! And Rhonda and Rachel are finally gonna be there!!! YAY!!!
